E-liquid, also termed as e-juice or e-solution; is one of the main constituent of the Electronic Cigarettes. The liquid is used to provide flavors with nicotine blends to the electronic products. E-liquid is contained by the Electronic Cigarettes cartridges, from where it is used to generate smoke. The smoke generated by these cigarettes is not like the one in conventional cigarettes; that means has no side effects. This smoke is actually the vapor produced by the solution present in the cartridges of electronic cigarettes. This vapor contains hundred different kinds of flavors; some of the most common ones are chocolate, vanilla, mint, tobacco mint and orange; others not so common are also used in this solution.
E-liquid is the refillable solution; it is sometimes the nicotine solution with additives present in it. The most common additives include propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), commonly termed as glycol. These are the common food additives which are being used with the edibles since a long time.
Propylene Glycol has the water retaining properties; these properties of the substance enable it to be used for the atomized solutions. This substance has been widely used in the field of medicine since 1950s; provides the purpose of aqua in the asthma treatment devices and equipment. The greatest quality of the Propylene Glycol is its safety; it has been approved by the FDA (The US Food and Drugs Administration) and is included in the list of ‘accepted to use’ chemical substances.
Vegetable Glycerin has almost the same properties, as of Propylene Glycol. It is aqueous in nature, retains water and is used as an alternative to PG. It’s a very low toxic chemical substance, which is sweet in taste and is soluble in water. Vegetable Glycerin has also been approved by the US Food and Drugs Administration, but it is recommended to test it for possible contamination.
Both these substances which are being used today in the e-solutions of the electronic cigarettes have not shown any side effects since the time they were introduced. This proves that they would certainly have no side effects on the e-smokers who use the new technology products.
The cartridges provided with the starter kits of the e cigarettes contain this e-solution; this e-solution varies with respect to the amount of nicotine used in them. Nicotine being highly addictive material; is available with different quantities according to the desire of smokers; this primarily applies to those smokers who want to quit smoking. They have a provision of lessening the amount of nicotine in their intake, and can further end up on a stage of ‘Zero Nicotine’ level.
In these solutions, different nicotine levels are provided to the e-smokers. This may range from zero nicotine to very high amount of nicotine. Most of the brands range from five (5) to six (6) levels; starting from 0 mg/ml to 36 mg/ml, where 36 mg/ml represent extra high doses. For the ease of buyer, these concentration levels are printed on the bottle of e-solutions provided with the e cigarette starter kits.
